Rights of Privacy
In today Law class we study about Privacy and then the teacher showed the movie Enemy of the state. The movie is about how the NSA (National Security Agents) breaches one's rights for the certain benefits. The movie is very fast, exciting, and really fun to watch, too bad I didn't get to watch the whole movie if I'm not too lazy I might go rent one.
The movie really show the controversy about if authorized people such as FBI or NSA should have the right to violate privacy rights of suspect such as personal information, and setting tracking device on your personal belongings or break in to your premise and make a scene like a rob. Because if the person is innocent then you are violating his privacy rights and personal and vice versa if the person is end up guilty then this should be ok. Right? For me when I was watching the movie I got many feelings, one is that if the main character were me I would go nuts anyway after all the NSA put me through. Another one is if NSA doesn't track and let the suspect be free without knowing whether he's guilty or not. I was weighing which has more pros and cons and was image what if that person were me. Part of me answer that if a person is innocent so it should be fine because if the FBI or NSA follows my every moves and I still have my normal life then I have nothing to worry as long as others aspects of my personal life is kept private and only certain agents know. The other part got the feelings that even though a person is innocent but I wouldn't want anyone to know about my personal life anyway otherwise i wouldn't be personal. Right?.
If I have to decide I would let the NSA or FBI or what ever can violate privacy but the court should know about this first but doesn't have to let the suspect know untill they go to the court and the agency should have very super high standards employees. And tracking my life is better than letting the guilty guy got away (even though I believe in karma). But I understand emotions do come and go if one don't give in emotions much then can see other things more clear.
